The Contemporary Reader

I was reading this book called The Contemporary Reader . I was so surprised about the way they used to take the mail to all the little towns. They didn't have any automobiles in those days, so they had to use cowboys and horses.

Hello Refugio,
Was this book non-fiction? I think the 'pony-express' system of delivering the mail before trains and cars was ingenious. Look how much has changed since then! Thanks for posting. Beth

Thanks for sharing this book. My great-grandfather was a "Pony Express" rider for a little while when he was young, and I always wanted to know more about it.
