goodbye

So this is it. The end of our journey. Here is your homework for the summer:

1. Read good books
2. Write in your journal
3. Post and comment on the blog

This year, your class has published a total of 83 posts on Freedom of Voice! This is totally AMAZING! I am so proud of you for your courage to take on something new, for sharing your stories so openly, and for being willing to share them with the world. I look forward to seeing some new posts during the summer. If you want to save them first as a draft, I will check them over for you before publishing. I will check the blog daily and hope to keep in touch with you this way. I'm going to take some pictures of our potluck today, and I will post them next week. So be sure to check in!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to wish Graciela good luck on finishing up her last two GED tests next week. Good luck Graciela!!

Ivis will be taking her first test on May 20th! Good luck Ivis!!

Also, Adriana, who started in our class in September and moved on to GED in December, graduated on Tuesday night! Congratulations, Adriana!!

Thank you, everyone, for making it a joy for me to come to work every day.

Sue, you know how much I was working for this, and I am working really hard to pass my last two GED tests, and you are right, you have to be proud of yourself because you are an example of a good teacher, keep helping others the way you did with me, and you are going to be rewarded, God bless you, and thanks again for your patient. I promise you are going to be the first person to know my scores, and good luck to you too.

Sue, I want to thank you for helping me in your class. If it wasn't for your help I wouldn't be here in my GED class preparing for my first test. I will do my social studies test in May 20 and I'm so nervious I hope I can pass it. I know I will. I know it because I have learned a lot of things and the things I have learned is because of you, you teach me a lot and help me a lot. I'm happy about that. Thank you for teaching me that reading is a great way to learn. Now I like to read and I do because you showed me the passion to read.

THANK YOU!!!!!!

We're all lucky to have Sue in our lives. She's a good friend of mine who is sharing this side of her life with me ... and hearing how you, her students, feel about her makes me all the more proud to know her.

Hi Sue.
Today I went to P.P.C.C to do my reading and writing tests, and I did pass my reading test, I still waiting for my score on my writing test, it takes seven to ten days to have the score back.
Can you believed it? seven to ten days to know if I got my G.E.D or not. I am crossing my fingers to pass the writing test.

Hi Sue, I just got my writing score back, and I did pass it, can you believe it? I am going to have my G.E.D in a few days. I am so happy and I hope I can go to the graduation next year.

At graduation next year, I'll be the one with the tears in my eyes yelling, "Yayyyy! Graciela!"

Remember, this is not the end, but only the beginning. Keep reading, keep writing, get involved in your community.

People may not be following all the comments to know this news, so why don't you write a post about it? If you share your experiences of what you went through to get your GED, it might inspire others as well. Congrats-I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of you.

Thank you Sue.
I just got my G.E.D in the mail yesterday, I can't even tell how I felt when I open the envelope and saw it. I looked at it over and over, is some thing that I was dreaming about until today because my dream came true.

Hi Sue-
This is Charlie from Durango. Thanks for showing us your blog at CAEPA. You and your students are very inspiring. Congratulations on such a successful school year and the amazing log of student writing that came out of it. I think I'll give it a shot with my students next year. We are having an inservice this afternoon to explore the possibility of having a program-wide blog. Maybe you could fill me in on any hurdles, successful strategies, surprises, etc. that you encountered along the way. Thanks and I hope your summer is off to a great start! I'll let you know when our blog is up and running.

Hi, Sue

As you already know by Graciela I pass my Social studies test and I'm so happy!. I also did the Writting one in June 3. I was so nervous because I thought that I would not pass it. I was sad and nervous the whole week. Today I came to the library and I enter my password in the computer, to my big surprice I saw that I have pass my Writting test. I couldn't believe it. I just say "oh ch?? I pass it" and the man sitting besides me just looked at me like if was I was crazy. I'm so happy, because now I just have three test left, I hope I can pass the others too. I also want to thank you for all the things that you show me in your class. I learn a lot of things with you and that's why I passed my test.

THANK YOU!!!!! Hope to see you soon.
